Alarm Annual Compliance Surveys

We coordinate Annual Compliance Surveys of each of our rental homes to be compliant with Virginia law and ensure safety precautions. During these surveys, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are inspected along with fire safety precautions throughout the property.

Rent-Ready Requirements

In order to comply with the Code of Virginia, VRLTA, and RVA Property Management standards, the items listed below must be completed prior to renting a property:

  • Property must be professionally cleaned and free of trash and debris.
  • The exterior grounds to be mowed, weeded and free of trash and debris, including the crawlspace.
  • All exterior / access doors and locks to be in good working condition with keys.
  • Windows to be in good working order and secured with locks. All windows should open and close easily. Bedroom and bath windows must have window coverings such as blinds or shades installed.
  • HVAC system to be in good operating condition, with a new filter installed.
  • All mechanical systems and components working as designed including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, sump pumps, water filtration systems, etc..
  • Smoke alarms are to be present at each floor level and installed per local building code.
